Math Tutoring

From times tables to calculus, one concept at a time.

Edchanto's math tutoring pairs your child with a tutor who works from the same textbook, worksheet, or online platform their teacher is already using, so a session starts from tonight's homework instead of a generic curriculum.

How a typical math session runs

  • The tutor reviews the student's recent classwork or a problem set they're stuck on before the session starts.
  • The first 10 minutes are spent finding exactly where understanding breaks down — not re-teaching everything from scratch.
  • The rest of the session works forward from that gap with guided practice, checked in real time.
  • A short written recap goes to the parent after each session: what was covered, what to watch for, what's next.

Where math tutoring tends to help most

Families usually come to us at one of three points: a student is a chapter behind and the gap is compounding, a student is capable but losing marks on careless errors and pacing, or a student is aiming for an advanced track (AP Calculus, an accelerated Algebra sequence) and wants a head start.

My son went from dreading algebra homework to explaining it back to me. The weekly notes after each session were what convinced me it was working.
